Theme Courses

The purpose of the theme for the Environmental Studies major is to narrow the focus of the major. My theme is Environmental Health. I have completed five courses outside of the major in which I have done a project/paper related to environmental health. From these courses, I gained skills in researching (finding scholarly literature and primary sources), developed and improved my writing skills, and thought critically about different perspectives in relation to these issues.

  • ECON 214 - International Development: examined the environmental, health and economic implications of gold mining in Tanzania
